Strain Description
1. 
loxP elements were introduced to flank exon 2 and exon 9 (a.a. 1-343) of the murine Phrf1 gene by using CRISPR/Cas9 technology.
2. 
Forebrain-specific Phrf1 knockout mice could be producing by crossing this strain with Camk2a-iCre transgenic mice. The phenotype of forebrain-specific Phrf1 knockout mice is as follows,
     (a) exhibited similar anxiety like behaviors 
     (b) impaired spatial learning and memory
     (c) dendritic structures of CA1 pyramidal neurons are altered, including decrease of the                  total dendritic length and branches, the reduction of internodal segment length...etc
3. 
Phrf1 is also involved in acute promyelocytic leukemia (APL) models and modulating non-homologous end-joining (NHEJ)
