Species laboratory mouse
Strain Type COI (coisogenic strain),MSR (mutant strain)
Mutant Type TG (Transgenic)
Other Names
Background Strain NOD/Sytwu
Strain Description 1. Transgene consists of human insulin promoter, the first and part of the second noncoding exons of insulin, an intron from rabbit betaglobin, membrane-bound agonistic anti-CTLA-4 scFv/eB7/B7TM, and a poly-A signal from rabbit betaglobin.
2. Anti-CTLA-4 scFv is from 4F10 hybridoma with two mutations in the L chain variable region, a myc epitope, an extracellular portion, a transmembrane (TM) domain and the cytosolictail (CT) of murine B7-1.
3. Anti-Clta4scFv only detected in pancreatic beta cells with RT-PCR.
4. Carried 5-10 copies of the chimeric transgene.
5. Delay in onset and inhibits the development of autoimmune diabetes in NOD mice.
